Five-year Renewable Term Position: Second Year Spanish Language Coordinator

The Department of Modern Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics at the University of Oklahoma invites applications for a five-year renewable term appointment in Spanish language and coordination. The successful candidate will serve as the language coordinator of second year Spanish courses and teach five courses per year at the intermediate (2000) level beginning in August 2013. Coordination duties include but are not limited to: assisting in syllabus design, testing, instructor observation and evaluation, program evaluation, scheduling courses, and enrollment management. We seek an experienced individual with a PhD or MA in Applied Linguistics or Second Language Acquisition. Native or near-native fluency in Spanish and teaching experience at the university level with excellent teaching credentials; demonstrated organizational and management abilities; willingness to work within an articulated program under the faculty consultant for lower-division Spanish. Teaching with technology strongly desired. Preference given to candidates who are certified ACTFL testers.
