Applicants must have a Ph.D. in a relevant field, a native or near-native command of both Mandarin and English, and a demonstrable commitment to research and teaching. The successful candidate will be expected to teach four courses per year in Chinese language and culture. The position will be tenure-track or tenured, depending upon qualifications. Salary is competitive. The appointment will begin August 13, 2012. Preliminary interviews will be held at the MLA convention in Seattle. The successful applicant will join a diverse and interdisciplinary faculty in Chinese Studies, spanning several academic units.
